Being in nature I feel alive, inspired by the elements which drives my creativity. Looking for a home from home, a way to connect with my surroundings and the community around me. Art for me is a tool I use to both understand and heal myself and let the intuitive side freedom to explore what stays hidden in daily life. Finding the buried treasure, expressing my inner world releases me from confinement and helps me find my way home to myself.
As an Artist I respond to my creative intuition. I begin with the seed of an idea which comes usually while in nature, flowing like water moving through the waves of inspiration and purpose.. When responding to a commission there may be more restrictions in place and I work to fulfil the desired outcome while still staying true to my core principles as an Artist. Art heals as it surpasses the blocks which restrict, confine and dictate our being. For me Art holds the key to unlock the part of ourselves that remains hidden, often even to ourselves. Over the last few years I have worked on several commissions from the NHS which have been funded by the Arts Council of Wales. These have been initiated through the emphasis the Health board now have to integrate Art and Wellbeing for patients and staff alike. As a result of this I created a Wellbeing Tree Mural and 3 COVID Memorial Gardens at The Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend; The Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Pontyclun and Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil.
